Amazon WorkSpaces Applications Announces Ubuntu Pro 24.04 LTS Support for Elastic Fleets
Amazon WorkSpaces Applications now supports Ubuntu Pro 24.04 LTS on Elastic fleets, enabling seamless streaming of Ubuntu desktop apps with AWS's scalability and cost-efficiency.
Amazon WorkSpaces Applications (AWSA) now offers support for Ubuntu Pro 24.04 LTS on its Elastic fleets, empowering Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and central IT organizations. This integration allows them to stream Ubuntu desktop applications to users, capitalizing on the flexibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness inherent in the AWS Cloud.
Amazon WorkSpaces Applications provides a fully managed, secure service for streaming desktops and applications, granting users instant access from any location. The Elastic fleet within AWSA is a serverless fleet type designed to stream desktop applications to end-users from an AWS-managed pool of streaming instances. It eliminates the need for customers to predict usage, create and manage scaling policies, or create their own images, simplifying application delivery. This feature is specifically tailored for organizations that aim to stream applications without the overhead of managing capacity or crafting custom WorkSpaces Applications images.
To begin, users can sign into the WorkSpaces Applications management console and choose an AWS Region. For comprehensive details on available regions, customers should consult the AWS Region Table. Amazon WorkSpaces Applications operates on a pay-as-you-go pricing model, with further information accessible on the Amazon WorkSpaces Applications Pricing page.
