Introducing the 2026 Django Software Foundation Board

The Django Software Foundation (DSF) is pleased to announce its 2026 Board of Directors, following a period of dedicated service from its outgoing members and officers.

Thank You to Our Outgoing Directors

We extend our sincere gratitude to Thibaud Colas and Sarah Abderemane, who are completing their terms on the board. Their invaluable contributions have profoundly shaped the foundation, with highlights barely scratching the surface of their extensive work.

Thibaud, serving as President in 2025 and Secretary in 2024, was instrumental in significant governance improvements, the Django CNA initiative, efficient election administration, and the creation of the DSF's first annual report. He also spearheaded the birthday campaign and facilitated the establishment of several new working groups, demonstrating thoughtful leadership in navigating complex decisions.

Sarah, who served as Vice President in 2025, made significant contributions to our outreach efforts, working group coordination, and membership management. She also acted as a key point of contact for the Django CNA initiative alongside Thibaud.

Both Thibaud and Sarah served as exceptional ambassadors for the DSF, representing the board at numerous conferences and events. While their extensive contributions are too numerous to fully enumerate, their dedication will be deeply missed. The DSF is pleased they will continue to lend their expertise and guidance as members of various working groups. On behalf of the entire board, we express profound thanks for their unwavering commitment to Django and the DSF; the community is undeniably richer for their service.

The DSF also extends appreciation to Tom Carrick and Jacob Kaplan-Moss for their diligent service as officers in 2025. Tom, as Secretary, meticulously organized meetings and maintained records, while Jacob, as Treasurer, provided careful stewardship of the foundation's finances. Their combined dedication was crucial in guiding the DSF through another successful year.

We are delighted to welcome Priya Pahwa and Ryan Cheley as newly elected directors to the board, and we congratulate Jacob Kaplan-Moss on his successful re-election.

2026 DSF Board Officers

The board has unanimously elected its officers for 2026:

• Vice President: Abigail Gbadago
• Treasurer: Ryan Cheley
• Secretary: Priya Pahwa

The full 2026 board also includes Jacob Kaplan-Moss, Paolo Melchiorre, and Tom Carrick.

Incoming President Jeff Triplett stated, "I am honored to serve as President for 2026. The DSF faces important work ahead, and I look forward to building upon the strong foundation established by previous boards."
