Quick Access to Pull Request Descriptions in GitHub's 'Files changed' Public Preview
GitHub's 'Files changed' public preview now offers quick access to pull request descriptions, enhancing code reviews and workflow efficiency. Discover this new feature and performance improvements.
Back to changelog
This update introduces a significant improvement to the "Files changed" page in GitHub, currently available in public preview. Users can now conveniently view pull request descriptions without navigating away from the new "Files changed" page, eliminating the need to scroll to the top, switch tabs, or lose context during code reviews.
To access the pull request description, simply click the Overview button located on the toolbar.

This feature is the first of many upcoming enhancements designed to help developers maintain focus and reduce the frequency of switching between tabs. It is exclusively available within the new "Files changed" page. If you are still using the classic experience, you can transition by clicking "Try the new experience" at the top of the classic page.
Performance Enhancements and Further Updates
Since the last update, numerous fixes have been implemented, including critical performance improvements. For example, navigating from the new "Files changed" page to other sections of GitHub should now be noticeably faster. The team is actively working on additional performance optimizations, which are anticipated to be rolled out in the next few weeks.
Your Feedback is Important
